Gaming Choice Board · Canada
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information is involved when you read our gaming and entertainment guides, how we use it, and the choices available to you. It applies to gamingchoiceboard.com and is effective 20 October 2026.
Our aim is to make useful editorial recommendations while keeping the information needed to operate this site to a minimum. We do not build visitor profiles or use behavioural advertising.
1. Operator and privacy contact
Gaming Choice Board operates gamingchoiceboard.com as an independent editorial entertainment guide. We publish comparisons and practical information to help readers explore games and related services. The site is not a game publisher, payment service, or account provider.
For privacy questions or requests, write to [email protected]. The privacy inbox is reviewed Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 Eastern Time, excluding Canadian public holidays. Please include enough context to help us locate the relevant correspondence, but do not send passwords, payment details, government identification numbers, or other sensitive material.
Our editorial office is at 225 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario M5V 1Z4, Canada. You may also use the site’s contact route for an editorial enquiry; a privacy request sent directly to the email above is easier to identify and handle confidentially.
2. Information involved when you visit
Reading public pages does not require an account. If you choose to contact the editors, the form asks for your name, email address, message, and confirmation that you have read the applicable terms and this notice. Share only what is needed to explain your question. The confirmation page at /success is a static acknowledgement of the browser submission; it does not establish that a message reached an editorial inbox or that a form archive exists.
Like other websites, the server handling a page request may receive the IP address needed to return that page, browser and device information sent with the request, the requested path, and the time of the request. These operational details can appear in infrastructure logs. We do not use them to create a visitor profile, and this site does not run an audience analytics or advertising tracker.
The consent interface uses a first-party preference named site_cookie_consent to remember whether you accepted or rejected optional storage. Its stated lifetime is 31,536,000 seconds (one year). The preference is necessary to retain your choice; no optional tracking purpose is enabled by either choice. Your browser may also hold ordinary technical data while loading pages, according to its own behaviour.
| Category | Examples | Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enquiry | Name, email address, message, policy confirmation | You, when submitting | Let you describe a question to the editors |
| Request | IP address, browser details, requested path and time | Your browser and hosting infrastructure | Return pages, troubleshoot faults and reduce abuse |
| Preference | Accepted or rejected consent choice | Gaming Choice Board | Remember your selection for up to one year |
These categories describe information that can be involved in ordinary operation; they do not mean that every visit is copied into an editorial database. Do not include confidential information in a form message.
3. Why information is used
We use information only for purposes connected to this guide and its operation. A name and email address can help us understand and respond to an enquiry that you send directly to the editors. Request details can help a service operator deliver a page, identify a broken route, diagnose repeated errors, or investigate abusive traffic where those details are available to us.
The consent preference lets the site recall your selection on a later visit. Editorial material is prepared for readers generally; we do not personalize rankings using a reader’s browsing history. We do not sell personal information, rent contact lists, or plan behavioural advertising. If our purposes materially change, we will update this notice and seek a fresh choice where applicable law requires it.
4. Consent and Canadian privacy principles
We handle personal information according to applicable Canadian privacy law and fair information principles, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies. Those principles include identifying purposes, limiting collection and use, protecting information, and providing a way to ask questions. This description is not a claim of certification or a legal conclusion about every jurisdiction.
Where consent is the appropriate basis for optional browser storage, the consent controls offer an affirmative choice and a rejection choice. Rejecting optional storage remains available without preventing access to editorial pages. You can change your selection using the Cookie settings control in the site footer; changing it affects future browser behaviour and does not erase information already present in a service log.
The form’s policy confirmation records your acknowledgement for that submission flow. It is not enrolment in marketing, and the site does not use it to subscribe you to a mailing list. A request needed to provide a page or handle a message may instead be processed for that limited operational purpose, subject to the law that applies.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep information only as long as it serves the purpose for which it was received, subject to legal duties and the practical limits of service-provider logs. The following periods are editorial retention rules; a hosting or email provider may have separate operational schedules outside our direct control.
- Editorial email enquiries are deleted within 90 days after the conversation is resolved, unless a legal obligation or a documented dispute requires a longer period.
- Operational request logs under editorial control are limited to 30 days, then removed or allowed to expire. A provider may retain its own security records under its service terms.
- The consent cookie lasts up to 31,536,000 seconds, or until replaced, expired, or cleared through browser controls. No form-message archive is implemented by the static acknowledgement page.
When a record reaches its applicable limit, it is deleted or de-identified where practical. If a legal hold applies, access is restricted to that purpose and the record is reviewed for deletion when the hold ends.
7. Protecting information
We use proportionate precautions for an editorial site: access to correspondence is limited to people handling editorial work, routine administration is restricted, and secure connections and device access controls are used where supported by the relevant service. We avoid collecting details that are unnecessary to answer a question and ask readers not to send passwords, payment credentials, or sensitive identity information.
No website, transmission method, or storage system can guarantee complete security. You can help by using an up-to-date browser, keeping your devices private, and contacting us promptly if you believe an enquiry was sent to the wrong address. To the extent permitted by law, this notice does not exclude rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Your choices and privacy requests
Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access personal information about you, correct an inaccuracy, request deletion, or withdraw consent for a consent-based use. Send your request to [email protected] and describe the information or interaction involved. If your request concerns a message, using the email address from which you contacted us can help us find it.
We aim to acknowledge requests within five business days and complete them within 30 days. If a lawful extension is needed because a request is complex or requires consultation, we will explain the reason and expected timing. We may ask for proportionate information to verify that a request concerns you; we will not ask you to email a password or payment credential.
Some records may need to be retained to meet a legal obligation, resolve a dispute, or protect the service. If we cannot fulfil a request in full, we will explain the applicable reason where the law allows. If a concern remains unresolved, Canadian residents may contact the privacy commissioner with jurisdiction over their concern, including the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada for matters within its remit.
9. Young visitors
Gaming Choice Board provides general entertainment information for readers and is not designed to solicit personal information from children under 13. We do not knowingly ask children in that age group to create accounts or send personal details. A parent or guardian who believes a child has emailed personal information may contact the privacy inbox and request its removal.
Games and services discussed here set their own age ratings, community rules, and parental controls. Before a young person follows an external link or creates an account elsewhere, a parent or guardian should review that service’s terms and age guidance. Our editorial guide does not change those external requirements.
10. Policy changes
This policy is effective 20 October 2026. We review it at least once each year and when the site’s information practices materially change. The current version will remain available at gamingchoiceboard.com/privacy, with the effective date shown near the beginning.
For a material change, we will revise the relevant explanation before applying the new practice where practical. If a new optional purpose requires consent, we will request that choice rather than treating continued browsing as agreement. Earlier versions may differ, so please review this page when you have a privacy question.
